website-automation vs Carrd

Carrd is excellent at one-page sites. We start there and keep going.

Carrd is small, focused, and cheap — great for a personal landing, a launch page, or a single bio link. We do that plus the rest of what a real business website needs.

Carrd is for one-page sites. We're for businesses that grow past that.

The honest comparison — no marketing fluff.

Where we win

What you get with us that it doesn't give you.

AI generation vs blank canvas

Carrd gives you a blank one-page template. You write all the copy. Our AI writes a structurally-complete site from a prompt — copy, sections, palette, photos.

Multi-page sites

Carrd is one-page by design. Adding a second page means linking to a second Carrd or a different tool. We're built for multi-page from the start.

E-commerce

Carrd's payment integration is basic — link to a Gumroad or Stripe payment link. No product catalog, no cart, no real storefront. Our Max plan is full Stripe Connect with product management.

Blog + content

Carrd doesn't do blogs. We have full MDX blog support — write a post, it's live with SEO, RSS, JSON-LD.

Future-proofing

Outgrow Carrd, you migrate to a different platform. Outgrow us, you keep building — same codebase scales from a one-page landing to a multi-page storefront.

Where Carrd wins

Honest take — they're better at this.

Pick Carrd if any of these matter more to you than what we offer.

Dirt-cheap one-page sites

Carrd Pro Standard is $19/year — yes, per year. For a single one-page personal landing or product launch, you can't beat that price.

Lightning-fast load times

Carrd sites are tiny — usually <50kb total. Loads faster than ours for a simple landing page (we ship more JS for the editor + analytics).

Embed-anywhere widgets

Carrd has built-in form widgets, email capture, embeds. Simpler integration story for one-page use cases.

Focused scope

Carrd does one thing exceptionally well — one-page sites. It doesn't try to be your CMS or your storefront.

Switching from Carrd

The migration path.

A few steps, mostly DNS + content copy. Most stores cut over in an afternoon.

  1. 1

    1. Decide whether to grow up from Carrd

If you're a real business adding a services section, products, or content, time to graduate. If you just need a one-page personal site forever, Carrd is fine — keep it.

  2. 2

    2. Generate the replacement

Prompt at /create. The AI will likely give you more site than your Carrd had — which is the point.

  3. 3

    3. Move forms

Carrd's built-in forms don't migrate. Embed Tally or Formspree in the new site's contact section — both have free tiers.

  4. 4

    4. Cut over DNS

Two records, done in 30 minutes. Carrd stays accessible at its subdomain until you cancel.

FAQ

Common questions about switching.

I have 5 Carrds at $19/year each. Is migrating worth it?

Probably yes if any of them is starting to look like a real business. Our Premium plan covers 5 sites for $29/month with way more capability per site. For 5 pure personal one-pagers that aren't growing, Carrd stays cheaper.

Can I embed our site inside another Carrd page?

Both ways work via iframe. But usually if you want our level of polish, just migrate the whole page.

I use Carrd just for a link-in-bio page. Worth switching?

For a pure link-in-bio (Linktree-style), no. Stay on Carrd or use Linktree. We're overkill for that use case.
